  • Gain a greater understanding of employment rights and responsibilities and how to make the most of constructive feedback
  • Receive dedicated information sessions focusing on options and choices available to them at the end of Key Stage 3 and beyond
  • Link their areas of academic interest to careers using experiences from Unifrog and visiting speakers/ educational visits/Aspiration Wall.
  • Have discussions about how different subjects can enhance/affect career choices
  • Meet with subject teachers and Heads of Subject at Options Consultation Evening to discuss individual aspirations and subject content.
  • Have the opportunity to meet with the Director of Careers/ External Careers Advisor at Year 9 Options consultation evening and parents’ evening, to discuss their options and choices in greater detail. To receive their copy of the Academy’s options guidance booklet.
  • Participate in Personal Development Days to gain a better understanding of themselves (personal characteristics, skills, qualities, abilities, interests, potential weaknesses, and ways to develop further). The programme includes:

  • Careers Fair
  • Have access to careers information and advice through their Form Tutor, Subject Teachers, Head of House, library and Director of Careers.
