Personal Development Days
At SRPA we have an entire day each half term dedicated to students’ personal development. All of our students from Year 7 through to Year 13 will experience a variety of sessions exploring PSHE themes, British Values, our very own SRPA Values , current matters such as climate change and other important issues such as mental health and wellbeing.
We also bring our academy community together to focus our efforts on fundraising for our nominated House charities and support students with their careers education and exploration of their future pathway. This includes our University Programme, which includes visits to a variety of universities, supporting raise aspirations and giving students information they need to make informed decisions about their next steps.
Fiscal education, enterprise activities and providing students with an element of choice with our SRPA enrichment sessions allows us to keep the days practical and varied too. We offer traditional activities such as House competitions in football, benchball and dodgeball as well as activities like mindfulness and yoga to support mental and physical wellbeing. At key stage 5 we also have Independent Living Skills Days where our students look at a variety of skills such as car maintenance, basic DIY skills and culinary skills.
