  • Develop self-awareness in order to identify their strengths, weaknesses, values and interests and relate these to the world of work and education
  • Continue to learn about different careers and opportunities using experiences from Unifrog/ visiting speakers/ educational visits/ Aspiration Walls and work experience placements to understand the links between their subjects and different career paths
  • Undertake at least one week of work experience relevant to their future career aspirations
  • Undertake ongoing virtual work experience opportunities via the NHS Talent Academy and Spring Pod.
  • Make appropriate curricular and extra-curricular choices including MOOCs, part time employment, SSLT roles, mentoring, working with younger students etc.
  • Develop and practise CV, job application and interview skills
  • Participate in Personal Development Days to gain a better understanding of themselves (personal characteristics, skills, qualities, abilities, interests, potential weaknesses, and ways to develop further).

  • Learning 2 Learn ‘Springboard to Success & Next Steps support’
  • University visit

 

  • Participate in the Academy’s University Programme to gain further knowledge about this pathway, visiting a UCAS careers fair and at least two universities to explore possible courses and learn more about the life of a student, in addition to visiting speakers and personal statement workshops.
  • Opportunity to attend an Oxbridge conference, in addition to support provided by the Academy’s UCAS coordinator
  • Receive additional support for STEM, Medicine, veterinary science and dentistry career aspirations.
  • Receive targeted support when applying for an apprenticeship
  • Have access to careers information and advice through their Form Tutor, Subject Teachers, Head of House, Director of Achievement, Head/ Deputy of Sixth Form, library, study rooms and Director of Careers.
  • Receive additional targeted support when needed
  • Have the opportunity to meet with the Director of Careers to discuss next steps
  • Request one-to-one careers interview with an independent careers adviser.
